I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and
the history of the T-60 Grill and Coach's Low Country Boil® seasoning.
I am a retired football coach who, after my coaching career, relocated
with my family to
,
Fairplay,
SC
on the shore of the beautiful
Lake Hartwell
.
After recognizing the need for an eating establishment, I
opened the T-60 Grill on Mother’s Day in 2003 with the support of my lovely
wife, Tina.
The name T-60 is
derived from the channel marker on the lake that denotes our location.
Originally, our menu was very simple and included items such
as steaks and sandwiches. However,
four months after the restaurant opened, and with Tina’s encouragement, we
introduced the Low Country Boil – consisting of sausage, corn, potatoes, shrimp
and crab – which are all boiled in a pot containing the special seasoning we
developed.
The response that Tina and I received to our Low Country Boil
has been beyond our
imagination.
The Low Country Boil has proven to be so popular that we have had to expand the
restaurant five times. Now,
anywhere from 600-800 customers come to the T-60 Grill on summer weekends to
dine with us.
After receiving both requests and encouragement from customers
and other in the food service industry, I secured the services of a company to
custom blend the seasonings in Coach’s Low Country Boil® seasoning to my
specifications and to package it for both restaurant/foodservice wholesale and
retail sales.
Again, the response
to the product has been beyond our imagination. Now,
both professional chefs and people at home can have the same unique and
flavorful culinary experience associated with using Coach’s Low Country Boil® seasoning.
It is ideal for grilling, blackening, sauteing, baking, broiling and boiling.
It is also an ideal
addition to various soups and stews for a special complementary flavor note. Its use is only limited by your imagination.
I am very grateful and thankful to both God and my loyal
customers for making Tina’s and my dream a reality. I am especially thankful to Tina for assisting me in making the T-60
Grill and Coach’s Low Country Boil® seasoning the success that both have been so
far.
